Blueberry Superfood Bowl

This is such an excellent way to include important macronutrients in your meal consumption. You can simply add your own favorite fruits and additional toppings for added nutrients and texture like I did. I love to build mine with a colorful nutritious variety of plant-based superfoods that contain healthy sources of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, which our bodies need in order to function. I love to use organic frozen berries as the main ingredient. I know berries contain powerful antioxidants which may help to lower bad cholesterol, reduce high blood sugar, or help eliminate inflammation from the body. Try this recipe by alternating your favorite fruits and toppings to increase variety, nutritional value, and powerhouse energy.

Ingredients:
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 Ripe banana 
1-2 scoops Pea protein powder
2 cups Hemp milk (or your favorite nut milk/dairy-free yogurt)
1 cup purified water

Toppings:
Grain-free pumpkin seed granola
Coconut flakes
Hemp hearts
Chia seeds
Maca powder
Frozen blueberries & raspberries

Instructions:
1. First, measure out the ingredients and add them to a blender.
2. After adding ingredients into a blender, you are ready to blend.
3. Turn blender on to the lowest setting, and blend till smooth.
4. Next, transfer smoothie over to a bowl, and add toppings over the top.
5. Enjoy right away.
